How it works

  1. 1

    Take or pick the photo

    The camera shows the format's frame and the crown, eye and chin guides. You can also pick a photo from your library.

  2. 2

    Frame it

    Adjust with your fingers under the same guides. If you like, “White background” separates the person from the background, on the iPhone itself.

  3. 3

    Print

    One 4×6 in sheet with cut marks: at home as a PDF, or at a shop or photo lab as a JPEG.

Formats

35×45 mm

Passports and ID cards in most EU countries. 8 copies per sheet.

26×32 mm

Spanish DNI and passport, NIE and TIE. 12 copies per sheet.

Printing

At home (PDF)

Tap Print at home (PDF), then Print. 4×6 in (10×15) paper at 100% scale, not “fit”. Measure a copy with a ruler.

At a shop or photo lab (JPEG)

Tap Shop or photo lab (JPEG) and save or send the image. Order 4×6 in prints without cropping or fitting: it is 1200×1800 pixels at 300 dpi, exactly 4×6 in.

Will my photo be accepted?

The photos are the official size, but each office decides whether to accept them, and some refuse retouched photos, such as those with a white background. The DNI guides are approximate: what is required is a plain white background, the whole face from the front, and open eyes.

Privacy

Everything happens on your iPhone: no photo leaves the phone, there is no account and no analytics. Privacy policy.
